The Battlefield Homes team is a talented group of individuals who are committed to building quality homes for our customers. Our employees have been with the company for an average of 13 years.
Allen Harrison, President, grew up in the custom home-building business, working for a home builder in Alexandria, VA, operating his own remodeling company after attending Hampden-Sydney College. He went on to earn an MBA at a top 20 business school and has experience in a number of industries, including Defense and Intelligence, the IT industry and management of Surgery and Anesthesia in the Hospital Industry. He started with the company as Vice President of Operations in 2004 shortly after the company built his own home. Allen became the owner of Battlefield Homes in January of 2015.
Michael Tierney, Executive Vice President, is the founder and past President of Battlefield Homes. He owned and operated the company from 1991 through 2014. Michael has performed nearly every job there is in the home-building industry, from carpentry and machine operation to sales and executive management. Michael continues to work with clients, provide design assistance, manage projects and under-take land development activities.
Bernie Cline, Operations Manager, began with Battlefield Homes in 2012. He has performed numerous jobs in the industry, working for his father, who was a builder in Fredericksburg, continuing on to construction management and a career in sales with home-builders and construction industry suppliers. His relationship with Battlefield began in 1991. For 13 years, he was our sales representative with our major materials supplier. Bernie coordinates and oversees pricing, homeowner selections and options and coordination between our offices and field supervisors.
Wallace Woolfrey, Project Manager, started with Battlefield Homes in 2003. Wallace has extensive building experience and manages all aspects of remodeling and construction. Wallace manages our custom home projects in our western end of our area of operations – Lake Anna, Louisa, Mineral, Orange and Spotsylvania counties.
Mike Barb, Assistant Project Manager, started with Battlefield Homes in 2005. Mike served in the United States Marine Corps and has worked in the construction industry for 30 years performing all aspects of work in the field. He manages our custom home projects in the eastern end of our area of operations – Fredericksburg, Stafford, King George, Caroline, Westmoreland and Spotsylvania counties.
Melissa Schmidt, Office Manager, found her way to Nirvana with Battlefield Homes in 1998. She previously worked in banking, state court systems and county government, where she excelled in accounting, training and communication. Melissa manages all the office functions for the company, including accounting, and coordination of permits and inspections with the municipalities in which we work.
Mark Ellis, Assistant Superintendent, started with Battlefield Homes in 1998. He has a degree in Journalism and served in the United States Army 82nd Airborne Infantry. In the Army, he studied at the Defense Language Institute and also graduated from the Cryptologic Warfare School. Mark is responsible for site work, home maintenance during construction, quality inspections and assisting in all construction activities through the life of each project.
Sam Anderson, Operations Supervisor, entered the custom home industry with Battlefield Homes in 2017. He graduated from the University of Mary Washington in 2013 with a degree in Business Administration and brings experience in the fields of Sales, Information Technology, Office Management, and Insurance. Sam drafts house plans, coordinates permits and engineering, and helps our homeowners with home design and selections.
