The Battlefield Team

The Battlefield Homes team is a talented group of individuals who are committed to building quality homes for our customers. Our employees have been with the company for an average of 13 years.

Allen Harrison, President, grew up in the custom home-building business, working for a home builder in Alexandria, VA, operating his own remodeling company after attending Hampden-Sydney College. He earned an MBA at a top 20 business school and has experience in a number of industries, including Defense/Intelligence, the IT industry and management of Operating Rooms in the Hospital Industry.   He started with the company as Vice President of Operations in 2004 shortly after the company built his own home and became the owner of Battlefield Homes in January of 2015.

Bernie Cline, Vice President, began with Battlefield Homes in 2012. He has performed numerous jobs in the industry, working for his father, who was a builder in Fredericksburg, continuing on to construction management and a career in sales with home-builders and construction industry suppliers. Bernie coordinates and oversees pricing, homeowner selections and options and coordination between our operations staff and field supervisors.

Wallace Woolfrey, Project Manager, started with Battlefield Homes in 2003. Wallace has extensive building experience and manages all aspects of remodeling and construction. Wallace manages our custom home projects from the ground up, ensures our quality standards are met and supervises our field operations, scheduling and sub-contractors.

Mike Barb, Assistant Project Manager, started with Battlefield Homes in 2005. Mike served in the United States Marine Corps and has worked in the construction industry for 30 years performing all aspects of work in the field. He manages our custom home projects as part of our field project management team, supervising homes from framing through finish.

Steve Belcher, Assistant Project Manager.  Steve came to Battlefield Homes with a wealth of construction experience, including owning his own company and performing high level finish work in trim, cabinetry and numerous other areas of custom home-building.  He manages our projects as part of our field project management team, concentrating on finishes, detailed punch-out and customer service.

Melissa Schmidt, Office Manager, found her way to Nirvana with Battlefield Homes in 1998. She previously worked in banking, state court systems and county government, where she excelled in accounting, training and communication. Melissa manages all the office functions for the company, including accounting, and coordination of permits and inspections with the municipalities in which we work.

Sam Anderson, Operations Supervisor, entered the custom home industry with Battlefield Homes in 2017.  He graduated from the University of Mary Washington in 2013 with a degree in Business Administration and brings experience in the fields of Sales, Information Technology, Office Management, and Insurance. Sam drafts house plans, coordinates permits and engineering, and helps our homeowners with home design and selections.

Bernadette Horiuchi, Business Manager, began her career in the building industry in early 2019.  She graduated from Christendom College in 2011 with a BA in History and brings an extensive knowledge of customer service, office management, project planning, design and materials.  Bernadette assists homeowners in making selections, coordinates communication between operations staff and field managers, and works on internal process improvements to keep Battlefield running like a well-oiled machine.
